As we wind down for the festive season, I wanted to share the final Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) update for the year and let you know our team's availability over the holidays.
It has been a huge year for property, and as your trusted mortgage broker, my goal is to keep you informed so you can head into the Christmas break with peace of mind.
The December RBA Decision: Rates Hold at 3.60%
The RBA met today for their final gathering of 2025 and made the decision to keep the official cash rate on hold at 3.60%.
What does this mean?
The Board is currently taking a "wait and see" approach. While we have seen inflation drop significantly since its peak in 2022, recent data showed it ticking up slightly. Because of this, the RBA is playing it safe rather than cutting rates immediately.
The silver lining is stability. With the RBA not scheduled to meet again until February 2026, homeowners can enjoy the holiday period without worrying about sudden rate movements.
Our Office Update: We Are Fully Booked!
On a business note, 2025 has been an incredible year. Helping so many of you secure your dream homes or refinance for a better deal has been a privilege.
Because of the high volume of work we are currently managing, we have officially reached capacity for 2025.
To ensure we maintain the high service standards you expect from a dedicated mortgage broker, we are pressing pause on new applications for the rest of the year. This allows us to focus 100% on getting our current files over the line before the break.
Key Dates for Your Diary
New Inquiries: We will be back on deck and ready to assist with new loan applications starting January 19th, 2026.
Current Clients: If you have an application currently in progress, please don't worry—we are still working hard on your file!
See You in 2026
If you were planning to reach out to a mortgage broker to kickstart your 2026 property goals, please feel free to send us an enquiry via the website, and we will prioritize getting back to you as soon as we return in January.
Thank you so much for being part of our year. I hope you have a relaxing break, enjoy plenty of good food, and make great memories with your family.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
